Safety is our No.1 priority. Our safety record to-date is exemplary and we obviously wish to maintain this. We have a very strict code of conduct regarding safety at our shooting ground. Any member or guest who wilfully disregards our safety rules will be asked to leave the ground.

ONLY HOLDERS OF VALID SHOTGUN CERIFICATES ARE ALLOWED TO SHOOT AND/OR BUY CARTRIDGES

The main rules concerning safety are:

* All guns must be open (broken), or in a gun slip/case, at all times except when they are on a shooting stand.

* Semi-automatic guns must have their bolts retracted and safety flags inserted except when on a shooting stand.

* No gun may be loaded until you are on the stand, and it is your turn to shoot.

* Guns, loaded or unloaded, must never be pointed at anyone or anything - other than the intended targets.

* When walking between stands, guns must be unloaded and broken.

* Only serviceable guns, currently in proof, are permitted on the shooting ground. Max. bore 12G.

* Only cartridges which are safe for your gun may be used and the maximum permitted shot size is No.7. (NO STEEL SHOT). 

* Both eye and ear protection must be worn at all times while shooting is in progress.

* Any person, member or guest, has the right to caution any other person who they believe may be acting in an unsafe manner.

* Consumption of alcohol before and during shooting is strictly forbidden.

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE GROUND OVER WHICH WE SHOOT IS GRAZED BY LIVESTOCK, HENCE ONLY FIBRE WADS MAY BE USED AND FOR SAFETY REASONS STEEL SHOT IS NOT PERMITTED
